The short answer
The best day tour usually depends on your base. From Galway, the Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands are both close. From Killarney, choose between the Gap of Dunloe, Ring of Kerry and Dingle. From Dublin, Cork or Limerick, a Cliffs of Moher day is possible but longer.

Choosing by touring style
Mostly in a vehicle, seeing a lot
Coach and minibus-style days suit people who want to cover distance without driving. The Ring of Kerry and longer Cliffs of Moher days often fit here, though the vehicle type always depends on the tour.
Active and outdoors
The Gap of Dunloe can be walked or cycled, and the Aran Islands are popular for cycling once you are ashore.
Island and sea days
The Aran Islands involve a ferry or short flight, so weather matters more. Build in a spare day if an island trip is a priority.
Town and culture
Dingle combines a lively harbour town with Irish-speaking areas and coastal scenery.
If you only have one day
- Match the trip to your base; long transfers eat into short days.
- Check whether key entries or boats are included or extra.
